The Game Keeper will host it's first ever Heroscape Tournament on August 21st 2010.

Setup 8:30AM

Arrive: 10:30AM
Play Begins: 11:00AM
Last Game Starts:4:30PM

The tournament is open to anyone willing to attend, players are only required to bring an army within the guidelines for the tournament as indicated below. If you do plan to attend please contact me so I can make the appropriate arrangements. If you do not register we will not have room reserved for you! I can be reached at darkmage7a@hotmail.com, you can also post here online, or you can respond at he original thread. Although the main thread for the tournament is located on the Heroscapers.com website I will try to keep both threads updated as often as possible. Link to the original thread can be found here: http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?p=1126064#post1126064

Army Requirements
555 pts, 15 figure limit, 24 hex limit, no Marvel
Armies must include at least one double spaced unique or uncommon hero worth 90pts or more that is not Q9.(You can still draft Q9 he simply doesn't fulfill this requirement.)

Bring up to 2 armies. Write each army down on a separate index card. Before play each player reveals the army they chose for that game at the same time.

Special Rule regarding Treasure Glyphs!

At the end of each game everyone is allowed to draft 1 temporary treasure glyph for the army to begin the next game with. If you won the last game you played then you must draft a glyph at random. If you lost the last game you played you can choose which glyph to draft. No matter how many games you have played you can never begin play with more than 1 treasure glyph per hero. Your pool of draft-able glyphs just grows bigger and you can draft a different combination of glyphs each game. So as the day wears on the more heroes you are using the better your options will become.

Tournament Format

-There is no game time limit; play each game to completion.

-The pool of waiting players will be listed on a whiteboard. When you finish your game, check the board for opponents. The player of the game that just finished with the best record (rather than the winner of the game) is now the one who plays the waiting player with the best record. If there is more than one such player with equal records, the best ranked player plays the one who has been waiting longer. The loser plays the player who has been waiting longest that (s)he has not already played. In each case, if there is no suitable opponent in the pool, then add your name and record to the bottom of the whiteboard.

-Now that the players are paired, remove the player's name and record from the whiteboard and play. Choose the free map that neither of you have played on before. If there are no such maps, play on the lowest numbered free map.

-If there are two consecutive rounds in which no attacks are made, the game is settled on points.

-Continue for some time. Either Someone will call a half-hour warning after which no more games are started (4:30PM); at the end of the half-hour any unfinished games finish their current round, play two more rounds and, if still not completed, decide the game on the amount of points each player has left on the battlefield, scoring fractionally for squads.

-Rankings are determined according to the following criteria:

A) Best win difference (number of wins minus number of losses),
B) Win percentage, and
C) D20 roll.

-That is, the win difference is the primary method of ranking. Within equal differences, win percentage decides the placing. If the records are identical, roll the D20 (any splits made by the D20 are for prize table purposes only).

-At the end of the day, prizes are picked in order by placing. If you do not bring a prize, you may not take a prize. This way, everyone who brings a prize will go home with one. Traditionally, prizes people brought to our other New England tournaments have been a pack of heroscape figures or terrain but other good quality games are welcome too.
