Las Vegas Desert Times

A second daytime robbery occurred yesterday.  This time the Las Vegas Casino Worker's Credit Union in west Las Vegas was the target.  7 men dressed in regular clothing entered the bank and after taking tactical positions, forced the banks customers, workers, and security guards to the floor.  After obtaining nearly $100,000  the robbers herded everyone into an office and dropped a smoke flare in order to cover their escape.  A witness outside of the bank reported that she saw the 7 men get into a white van and drive off.  Police were unable to locate the escape vehicle.  Police are working with a small amount of evidence and an arrest does not seem likely any time soon.
As noted this was the second daytime robbery in 2 days.  Two days ago, the Sierra Nevada Depository was also robbed in broad daylight by 7 men.  While the M.O. appears to be identical in both robberies, police refuse to speculate that the same crew of men may be responsible for both robberies.  Perhaps not coincidentally, approximately $100,000 was also taken in the first robbery.

Las Vegas Desert Times

The Identity of The Jacobit
by Ryan Seacrest.

As promised dear readers, over the next few days, I will reveal the identity of the Jacobit.  I have narrowed his identity to 3 suspects and I will begin to examine them one at a time, pointing out the evidence for and against each suspect.  For today, I will simply provide the names of the 3 suspects and allow my readers to spend the next 48 hours in curious speculation.
The first suspect is Marvin Reynolds.  Mr. Reynolds is a professor of European History at UNLV.
The second suspect is Robert Boyd.  Mr. Boyd is a writer of some talent who resides in Las Vegas.
The final suspect is Simon Dazelit.  Mr. Dazelit currently performs as a stage magician and escape artist at Bally's.

My next article will be printed in two days and I will examine the evidence for and against Marvin Reynolds being the Jacobit.  Until then fair reader, remember that Fashion does Matter!

Las Vegas Desert Times:

The Identity of the Jacobit - the Case for Marvin Reynolds.

Mr. Reynolds has several characteristics that would make him a likely suspect.  He is a world expert on Scottish History and has written a book on the clan participation in the Jacobit revolution.  Mr. Reynolds is also an excellent swordsman.  He qualified for the U.S. Olympic fencing team many years ago.  Mr. Reynolds also has a reputation as being an excellent rock climber and thus has the ability to swing from a line as the Jacobit has done on several occasions.  Mr. Reynolds has his evenings free as he does not teach any evening courses at UNLV.

However, Mr. Reynolds is also 53 years old, albeit in great shape for someone his age.  Mr. Reynolds also usually shows good taste and dressed in uninspired, but acceptable conservative clothing.  Mr. Reynolds also was photographed on vacation in Scotland at the same time that the Jacobit was spotted trying to stop the theft of Diamond Jim Brady's walking stick at the Las Vegas convention center.

In two days, I will present the case for Robert Boyd.

Las Vegas Desert Times Articles:

Police Chief, Frank O'Reilly released a statement today.  "It appears that someone has declared war on the LVPD.  The number of missing police officers has now reached 10.  These officers have all disappeared while off-duty and there has been no witnesses to their disappearances.  I am appealing to the public to come forward with any information regarding these disappearances."  Chief O'Reilly went on to say that all officers appeared to disappear during periods of heavy, local fog - something of an oddity in Las Vegas normally dry weather.  The LVPD is offering a reward for information leading to the capture of those responsible.

3 More Prominent Citizens Found Dead

Las Vegas police were called to a grisly scene at the New York, New York casino early this morning.  The body of casino owner Charles St. Vyn was found draped over the torch of the Statue of Liberty replica atop the casino.  One source reported that the body's spine had been broken and his neck was wrenched so far around that his eyes were 180 degrees from his toes.  Mr St. Vyn was the third casino owner found dead this week.  Along with the casino owner, two union presidents, and three prominent "businessmen" with reputed mob ties were also found murdered.  All deaths are believed to be related as all bodies were horribly mangled and mutilated.  Police admit that they have few leads at this time.

Drug War Continues...2 Undercover Policeman Among the Casualities

Police Chief Frank O'Reilly admitted that two of his undercover detectives have fallen victim to the ongoing drug war in Las Vegas.  Although no one can arrive at a conclusive number, over 90 known drug dealers have been killed in the past two weeks.   Unfortunately, there have been other casualties as well....almost 200 addicts have also died...caught in the crossfire.  Although speculation is that several drug cabals are trying to expand their territories at the expense of each other.   However, Detective Dan Tanna had a different theory.  "It doesn't take a genius to figure out that someone is systematically taking down the drug organizations in the city.  They are hitting everybody...the Jamaicans, the Colombians, the Yakuza, even the Mob pipelines - they have all suffered significant losses.  The addicts are starting to feel the pinch.  Many of their sources have disappeared and now they don't know how to get their supply.  Even Jett is starting to become in short supply.  Whoever is doing this is determined, organized, ruthless, and they don't care about collateral damage."

Las Vegas Desert Times Editorial:

The Identity of the Jacobit - the Case for Robert Boyd.

Mr. Boyd is a well-known fiction writer residing in Las Vegas.  He has written at least two novels based on the Jacobite history.  Mr. Boyd is also a popular speaker on the history of the Jacobean revolt in Scotland.  He claims to be of Scottish descent.  Mr. Boyd is also an accomplished swordsman and a collector of swords and armor.  As a writer, Mr. Boyd has ample free time and so would be able to easily hide the nocturnal activities of being the Jacobite.  Mr. Boyd also makes a good living at being a writer and lecturer - as a result, he could afford the bills that come with being a vigilante.

However, it is well-known that Mr. Boyd is afraid of heights - not an issue for our high-swinging miscreant.  Mr. Boyd is often spotted at evening charity events and also is a well-known connoisseur of fine foods and wines.  These activities would suffer greatly if Mr. Boyd were the Jacobite.  Mr. Boyd also is known to not be particularly acrobatic, and admits to being near-sighted - the Jacobite does not wear glasses, and it is unlikely that he wears contacts.

I'll return in two days with the case for Simon Dazelit being the Jacobite.

Financial Page:

Hakura Motors announced today that they plan to build a new car assembly plant in or near Henderson, NV.  This plant would mean thousands of new jobs for the Las Vegas area.  Hakura Motors CEO Tashaki Hakura announced that the plans to build a new assembly plant will be awarded by open bid to a local construction firm  All the local construction companies are expected to put in bids.  There are also rumors that Hakura Motors is considering buying out some local manufacturer and modifying their existing facility.  Hakura Motors refused to speculate on this option when reached for comment.

Las Vegas Desert Times

The Identity of the Jacobite:  The Case for Simon Dazelit.

Mr Dazelit is a stage magician that performs at Bally's.  His show requires him to be a master of misdirection and subterfuge.  Mr. Dazelit's show also includes several escape artist acts.  Thus, Mr. Dazelit has the requisite physical abilities to be the Jacobite.  Recently, Mr. Dazelit swung onto stage dressed as the Jacobite and was VERY CONVINCING!  Mr. Dazelit also is well-off and has the resources to finance his activities as a nighttime vigilante.  Also he has few obligations beyond his show, which gives him ample opportunity to be off fighting crime and destroying fashion.  Mr. Dazelit also seems to delight in wearing tacky, outrageous clothing, and his  stage outfit is outdated and gouche.  Also of note - Mr Dazelit has never been spotted at the same time as the Jacobite.
However, Mr. Dazelit has no known expertise regarding Scottish History or the Jacobean period.  Also, although Mr. Dazelit is skilled with throwing knives and other objects, including boomerangs, he has never shown any ability to wield a sword or a shield.

So there you have my observations  on the 3 leading candidates to be the Jacobite.  In my opinion then, I believe we can reach only one conclusion - Simon Dazelit is the Jacobite.  I believe that the Las Vegas Police Department needs to bring him in for questioning regarding several deaths and especially regarding the kidnapping of yours truly.  This concludes my expose on the Jacobite.

Yes, they are, and so are the kids.  What's a cookout without the family?
